Project Slayers Beginner Guide
Project Slayers rewards steady preparation. Build your character, learn the map, complete nearby quests, and save resources before committing to expensive training or repeated spins.
Create your character
Choose a name and customize your appearance before entering the world. Your clan and progression choices will shape later combat options, while cosmetic choices do not determine your early quest route.
- Finish character creation.
- Learn the basic movement and combat controls.
- Open the menu to locate inventory, stats, map, and codes.
Complete the tutorial actions before spending spins or currency.
Choose a faction
Decide whether to begin as a human Demon Slayer or pursue the demon route later. Human progression provides the clearest introduction to quests, weapons, Final Selection, and breathing training.
- Select the human route for the standard beginner path.
- Keep track of faction-specific requirements.
- Avoid spending limited resources until your preferred combat direction is clear.
Human progression is the most straightforward route for learning the game.
Complete the first village quests
Start in Kiribating Village and complete nearby tasks to earn Wen, experience, and basic combat familiarity. Use quests to learn enemy attack patterns instead of repeatedly fighting high-level enemies.
- Accept available quests in Kiribating Village.
- Defeat nearby enemies and return to the quest giver.
- Use earned Wen for essential equipment and travel.
Quest rewards are more efficient than randomly exploring dangerous areas at the start.
Get your first weapon
Purchase or obtain a basic sword when you have enough Wen. A weapon improves damage consistency and makes early demon and bandit encounters much safer.
- Save enough Wen for a starter sword.
- Practice blocking, attacking, and dodging.
- Upgrade combat equipment before buying optional cosmetics.
A reliable weapon should come before luxury purchases.
Raise your early levels
Continue completing nearby quests and fighting enemies that can be defeated consistently. Group enemies carefully and avoid taking on bosses before learning their attack patterns.
- Complete repeatable village quests.
- Use food and healing items when available.
- Keep a reserve of Wen for training, travel, and equipment.
Consistent clears are safer and faster than attempting enemies far above your level.
Prepare for Final Selection
After building enough combat experience, travel to Mt. Sagiri and prepare for Final Selection. Bring healing items, understand your weapon range, and enter with a party when possible.
- Reach the level requirement for Final Selection.
- Stock up before entering.
- Complete the Final Selection challenge to progress as a Demon Slayer.
Do not enter while low on health, currency, or healing supplies.
Choose a long-term combat path
Once the early progression is stable, begin working toward a breathing style, stronger weapon, or demon art. Compare the training requirements with your preferred solo or group playstyle.
- Decide whether you prefer close-range damage, mobility, or crowd control.
- Save spins for the abilities you actually want.
- Train one main combat path before investing heavily in alternatives.
Focused progression avoids wasting Wen, spins, and time on incompatible builds.
Project Slayers Leveling Guide
The fastest leveling route changes as new areas and quest chains become available. Stay in a region until its quests are consistently quick, then move forward instead of farming enemies that take too long to defeat.
Early levels: Kiribating Village
Starting levelsSolo Route
- Complete the beginner quests around Kiribating Village.
- Fight nearby bandits and other low-level enemies.
- Return to quest givers after each objective instead of overextending.
Party Route
- Split nearby quest objectives between party members.
- Rotate aggro so newer players can complete objectives safely.
- Share travel and recovery time between fights.
Best for: Learning combat, earning starter Wen, and reaching the first weapon upgrade.
Avoid: High-level enemies and remote areas before obtaining reliable equipment.
Early progression: Zapiwara Mountain
Low-to-mid levelsSolo Route
- Move to Zapiwara Mountain after village quests become slow.
- Complete available bandit and enemy quests in the area.
- Use terrain and spacing to avoid being surrounded.
Party Route
- Have one player gather enemies while others attack from safer angles.
- Clear quest targets together to reduce downtime.
- Use the area for coordinated practice before attempting stronger bosses.
Best for: Improving damage output and building enough Wen for training and travel.
Avoid: Fighting groups larger than your stamina and healing supply can support.
Midgame route: Waroru Cave
Mid levelsSolo Route
- Enter Waroru Cave after your weapon and defensive skills are reliable.
- Prioritize repeatable quests and enemies that can be defeated without excessive healing.
- Use the cave layout to separate enemies where possible.
Party Route
- Clear enemies in small groups rather than pulling the entire cave.
- Assign stronger players to bosses while others complete nearby objectives.
- Keep one player available to revive or protect teammates.
Best for: Stronger experience gains and preparation for advanced trainers and quests.
Avoid: Boss attempts when your party cannot consistently survive the opening attack pattern.
Advanced progression: Butterfly Mansion and nearby routes
Mid-to-high levelsSolo Route
- Use Butterfly Mansion quests and nearby enemies when they provide better experience than earlier zones.
- Prioritize objectives with short travel distances.
- Return to town to restock before long farming sessions.
Party Route
- Chain quests around the mansion to reduce travel downtime.
- Use crowd-control abilities to protect lower-level party members.
- Rotate boss rewards and objectives fairly when farming as a group.
Best for: Preparing for breathing-style training, stronger weapons, and late-game areas.
Avoid: Spending all Wen on spins before essential combat upgrades are complete.
Late-game leveling: high-level quest zones
High levelsSolo Route
- Farm the highest quest tier you can clear consistently.
- Use mobility and defensive abilities to shorten encounters.
- Prioritize bosses only when their defeat time is competitive with normal quest farming.
Party Route
- Form a balanced group with damage, mobility, and crowd-control options.
- Chain boss and quest objectives to maximize experience per trip.
- Use party members to cover revival and escape routes.
Best for: Unlocking advanced abilities, completing endgame objectives, and building currency reserves.
Avoid: Repeatedly attempting content that causes frequent deaths or long recovery periods.
Efficient experience habits
All levelsSolo Route
- Keep a quest active whenever possible.
- Fight enemies close to your current strength.
- Minimize empty travel by planning quests in the same region.
Party Route
- Group players with similar progression goals.
- Use coordinated pulls and revive coverage.
- Rotate quest completion so every member receives useful rewards.
Best for: Maintaining steady experience gains without wasting time or resources.
Avoid: Changing zones too often, fighting without a quest, or spending all currency before the next upgrade.

Project Slayers Combat and Controls Guide
Efficient combat in Project Slayers depends on controlling stamina, recognizing recovery windows, and avoiding unnecessary trades. Start with the basic control layout, then practice short combos, blocking, dashing, and movement before adding Breathing Styles or Blood Demon Arts to your rotations.
Default PC Controls
| Input | Action | Use |
|---|---|---|
Left Mouse Button | Basic attack | Performs standard M1 attacks and forms the foundation of most ground combos. |
Right Mouse Button | Heavy attack | Deals heavier pressure and can help open guarded or recovering opponents. |
F | Block | Reduces or prevents incoming damage when timed before an attack connects. |
Q | Dash | Closes distance, escapes attacks, or repositions after a combo. |
Left Control | Sprint | Improves travel speed and helps maintain distance during exploration and combat. |
Space | Jump | Avoids ground attacks and supports aerial movement and wall traversal. |
Number keys | Skill selection | Selects equipped Breathing Style, Blood Demon Art, or combat abilities. |
Skill activation key | Use selected ability | Activates the currently selected combat skill after choosing it from the hotbar. |
Basic Attack Fundamentals
M1 chain
Use short M1 strings to test an opponent's defense. Do not automatically complete every attack chain if the enemy can counter after the final hit.
Heavy attack
Use the heavy attack after a block, dash punish, or confirmed opening rather than throwing it out repeatedly at neutral range.
Blocking
Block predictable skills and basic attacks, but release block when repositioning so stamina is not drained unnecessarily.
Dash timing
Dash through or away from linear attacks, then immediately counter while the enemy is recovering.
Stamina control
Keep enough stamina for one defensive dash or escape. Spending the entire bar on movement often turns a winning exchange into a defeat.
Starter Combos
Basic ground pressure
M1 chain → short pause → heavy attackSimple pressure pattern for new players that tests whether the opponent blocks or attempts to move.
Dash punish
Block or sidestep → Q dash → M1 chain → skillPunishes a missed enemy attack and converts the recovery window into damage.
Skill confirm
M1 hit confirm → selected combat skill → repositionUses basic attacks to confirm contact before spending a cooldown.
Safe reset
Short M1 string → Q dash away → regain staminaEnds pressure safely when the enemy begins blocking or a skill is about to recover.
Aerial escape
Jump → directional movement → dashAvoids ground-based attacks and creates space when surrounded by enemies.
PvE Combat Tips
Pull enemies in small groups
Fight one or two targets at a time whenever possible. Multiple enemies can interrupt M1 chains and drain stamina quickly.
Use terrain deliberately
Open areas are safer for bosses because they provide room to dash and identify attack animations.
Attack after recovery
Most bosses are safest to damage immediately after a long attack or movement skill finishes.
Prioritize survival
A slightly slower clear is more efficient than repeatedly losing progress while attempting an unsafe combo.
Use quests and bosses together
Quest rewards provide consistent experience and currency, while bosses are better for targeted weapons, equipment, and rare materials.
PvP Combat Tips
Do not open with every cooldown
Keep at least one movement or defensive option available so the opponent cannot punish your missed opener.
Watch the opponent's habits
Track whether the opponent dashes forward, blocks after two M1 hits, or uses a skill immediately after disengaging.
Bait blocks
Pause after a short M1 string or reposition instead of attacking predictably into a guarded opponent.
Control the center
Fight near open ground and avoid corners, walls, and environmental objects that limit dash routes.
Punish missed skills
The safest PvP damage usually comes after an opponent misses a large attack, not from trading abilities at the same time.
Respect ranged builds
Against Arrow or Temari pressure, use cover, diagonal movement, and short dashes rather than running directly toward projectiles.
Movement and Wall Traversal
Sprint
Use sprint for travel and for maintaining spacing, but stop sprinting when you need precise stamina management.
Dash movement
Dash diagonally instead of always moving straight backward. Diagonal movement makes linear attacks easier to avoid.
Jump timing
Jump over ground attacks when the animation is readable, but do not jump automatically against attacks that track vertically.
Wall movement
Move toward a climbable wall while jumping and use repeated jump inputs to gain height where wall traversal is available.
Escape routes
Before starting a boss fight, identify an open path for retreat so a missed dodge does not trap you against terrain.
Recommended Settings and Practice Routine
Camera distance
Use a view distance that keeps both your character and the opponent visible during dashes and large abilities.
Input consistency
Keep combat abilities on predictable hotbar keys so you do not lose time searching for a skill during an opening.
Performance
Reduce visual settings if effects or crowded areas make attack animations difficult to read.
Practice Routine
- 1Practice M1 timing on basic enemies.
- 2Add blocking and dash responses.
- 3Practice one short combo without using all cooldowns.
- 4Fight a boss while focusing only on reading attack recovery.
- 5Move to PvP after you can survive a full PvE encounter without exhausting stamina.
Common New Player Mistakes
Holding attack continuously
Fix: Use short confirmed strings and stop attacking when the opponent blocks or moves out of range.
Using every skill immediately
Fix: Save at least one skill for an escape, punish, or confirmed opening.
Ignoring stamina
Fix: Keep enough stamina for a dash and avoid sprinting during the most dangerous part of a boss fight.
Fighting in narrow terrain
Fix: Pull enemies into open ground before beginning a serious combo.
Trying to trade with bosses
Fix: Block or evade the attack first, then deal damage during the recovery window.
